Please, allow me to introduce myself
I am the one that keeps knocking at your door
waking you up when you're not even home
studying your face from the mirror's bottomless depth…

But don't, don't be afraid in my presence
I'm incapable of distressing your life
I came to salute your courage and faith
to pay respects, to express admiration for what you've got…

You've made progress and stand tall and loud
colliding forces, flashes and thunderbolts
all my signs you've been able to read
so now, finally, I see you in your time's best gown…

Please, allow me some introduction here
Alas, I haven't said my full name yet
"water" was my preternatural pseudonym
the hand-cupful you first held to look at yourself.
