TRUTH
& RECONCILIATION MEETINGS BEGIN IN EAST TIMOR

It
has been reported today that a small town in East
Timor has begun the grueling process of "truth
and reconciliation". Modelled after the South
African post-apartheid process, this was a much smaller,
more intimate endeavor, and just a first tentative
step toward overcoming the horrible memories of massacre
and loss.
