Celebrating those that keep the Taino culture alive! This year’s awards will be dedicated to “Love.” Each award is given in order to recognize our Taino people for all of their efforts in keeping our culture alive, and showing the world, that The Taino people are still here despite what some books may say. We have many unsung heroes in our Taino Community that are committed to educating people, and are very proud of the Legacy that our Noble Taino people have left. These awards are meant to focus on the positive that each person is bringing in their own unique and individual way.
The people that have been nominated are people that have met the criteria needed to show that they are indeed deserving of this award. They have been loyal, sincere, humble, and very active in the Taino community. These people have set forth the standard, and are indeed true leaders. They have shown through their personalities what it is to be Taino, true, wise and spiritual. Many of the nominees have given years of their lives to educate, reawaken and keep our Taino culture alive. This is very important because it is through their efforts in educating, that others are reawakened to their tainoness, and that is what will help to keep the Taino culture alive, after most of us are long gone.
The Taino Awards is an Annual event.
We are hoping that by hosting events like this, we can all come together and admire what is being done by our relatives, as well as get inspired, and re-energized so that we may keep supporting, educating, re-awakening, and strengthening the people in our Taino communities.
