	Alsace-Lorraine A land of stunning beauty, over which kings, emperors and nations have fought for millennia.

	Strasbourg The intellecutal and economic capital of Alsace, Strasbourg is also home to the European Parliament. Culturally, it offers great museums, a rich theatrical assortment, and ancient structures to explore.

	Loire Valley A land of magical fairytale castles, trimmed by vineyards, the Loire is a destination favored for its idyllic atmosphere.

	The Basque Country Only part of the Basque Country is in France (3 provinces); the other four provinces are in Spain. The French side has seen less violence and turmoil in recent times, but the culture still thrives. The Basque language is the only language with no known language family, and remains a mystery to this day.

	Burgundy Rich with history, known for the name it has given to wines from the region, Burgundy is also alive with active recreational activities.

Spain and Poland held a hard-line defense of their current level of representation, refusing "double majority" rule.
