GOOGLE CALLS FOR ACTION TO PROTECT THE OPEN INTERNET, WARNS OF ALLOWING TELECOMS TO CONTROL CONTENT
Google CEO Eric Schmidt told a "politely hostile" audience gathered by the PFF, an organization sponsored by major ISPs who want to bottleneck internet traffic and control your access to content online, "The Internet has created this remarkable set of free markets, open competition and competitive growth. … We need to keep it free and open". Schmidt named four principles that must govern market and government policy toward the online medium:
:: Defending freedom of speech;
:: Promoting universal broadband access;
:: Protecting Net Neutrality; and
:: Pushing for government transparency
SavetheInternet.com reminds readers that Schmidt's message to major corporate interests, government officials and the public was that "These four principles are not just critical to a better Internet, Schmidt said, but are the 'basic principles' driving the great American experiment."

Sentido anticipates increasing convergence between moving and broadcast media and the static, readable internet. It is with this in mind that we have begun planning the launch of a "Sentido TV" digital platform for online posting and reader download of moving news footage and reporting.

Sentido's aim to extend its service into broadcast format multimedia stems from the belief that information is valuable in itself and that providing information over multiple channels liberates the audience that consumes such information. Sentido will not reduce its textual offerings, but will provide enhanced complementary audio-visual coverage of key stories.
